Frequently asked questions

We will have guests that have never been to a ceilidh before, in fact they have probably never even heard of a ceilidh before, can you get them involved?

Certainly, no problem, although we are NOT going to force anyone to dance (Unlike other bands). We will teach all of the Ceilidh Dances, our Dance Caller Garry also has Radio Mics and Will Come on to the dance floor to demonstrate if needed. We will make sure everyone has a great night and no one is left out.

How far do you travel?

We travel the throughout the whole of Scotland and Northern England and further a field. We will never turn down giving a happy couple an amazing night just because "its too far to travel". ;-)

Do you require accommodation?

In some circumstances we would require accommodation, for example, if your wedding is on a Scottish Island and theres No Ferries available after we are finished, or if we have to travel more than say 4 hours. If your event is miles away, we can discuss the best options thats easiest for both parties. Everything is doable ;-)

We'd like a specific songs for our First Dance, is this possible?

Of Course, if you have a recording of your song(s) of choice and we cant source it please send it to us via email or on a spotify playlist. We will ensure your first dance and entrance etc is everything you have dreamed of.

Can I send you a list of songs I want for the DJ Part?

Yes, Please do, as this give us an idea of your musical tastes and our DJ will mix your Favourite Songs and Artists in to the DJ Set.

Can we ask the DJ for requests on the night?

No problem at all, if a song comes to your head on the night please come up and request it, it's VERY unusual for our DJ not to have a specific song, so the more requests the merrier.

Can we come see you play?

We always say yes to this, however, we will find an event local to you and get in touch with either the Bride and Groom or organiser of the event, to make sure they give their permission.

How long do you play for?

if you book the Ceilidh Band & DJ Option then we are booked for up to 4 hours. If you have booked the Ceilidh Band Only then we find that a couple of hours of energetic Ceilidh Dances is more than enough (Unless we are playing to a room full of olympic athletes hahaha).... However we will discuss this with you before you confirm you booking with us so there is no confusion on the night.

Can we add extra hours after we have confirmed our booking?

Yes, of course, as long as this is agreed by both parties before the big day and obviously if the venue is ok with that. There will be extra charges for extra hours, but that wil all be discussed beforehand.

What if we decide on the night we want an extra hour or extra time?

We will have to check with the venue and obviously there will be an extra charge, that will have to be paid before the extra time starts, dont worry, we wont charge you an arm and a leg and we are very easy going. However, we normally find that after 4 hours AND a long day before the reception, everyone is danced out.

Could we use your microphones for our speaches?

Yeah no problem, we offer this in the WEDDING EXTRAS section, Click for more details.

What instruments are in the band?

Our Standard Band Line up is, Accordion with Midi (midi means the accordion sounds like there is a Bass, piano, guitar, banjo, you name it on the stage, the sounds are made from midi triggers from within the accordion. Also, Fiddle and Our Drummer, plus Dance Caller and DJ from within the band.
